MoveOn.org is encouraging its members to e-mail Tom Brokaw and ask him to apologize for citing an old poll during a debate on Meet the Press Sunday between strategists for Sens. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) and John McCain (R-Ariz.).

They said Brokaw's comment "paint[ed] an inaccurate picture of the race for voters."
MoveOn.org, which supports Obama, was unhappy because Brokaw ended the debate with the observation that, "In fairness to everyone, [McCain] continues to lead" in the polls in the category of "best equipped to be commander in chief" by a factor of 53%-45%.
It turns out in the last two NBC polls, Obama actually topped McCain, according to MoveOn.org, and NBC confirmed to the group that Brokaw was referring to a poll taken several weeks ago just after the Republican convention.
A Meet the Press spokesperson had not returned a call at press time.

Capping any debate with outdated polling is unfair. It leaves the viewers aka "vidiots" with a final impression that may be incorrect.
Such is life in the "age of videography" where the content streaming through monitors is the main way that people get the bulk of their information. Modern humans evolved to handle our own problems, not every pathetic issue dished out to us by the media.

so again, relax people!
