Bio, owned by A&E Television Networks, announced the pickup of Shatner’s Raw Nerve, an offbeat celebrity interview series hosted by Boston Legal and Star Trek star William Shatner.

William Shatner

In each episode, Shatner will seek to discuss some of his guests’ most sensitive subjects, touching upon their “raw nerve,” hence the show’s name.

Bio lined up a number of eclectic guests, including ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel, Star Trek’s Leonard Nimoy, Jon Voight, Judge Judy, Jenna Jameson and Kelsey Grammer.

Shatner’s Raw Nerve will premiere on Bio Tuesday, Aug. 19 at 10 p.m.

The network also unveiled its development slate, which it is set to detail at the Television Critics Association tour in Beverly Hills Wednesday, highlighted by The Chris Isaak Hour.

The Chris Isaak Hour stars musician Chris Isaak in a format that the network described as “Biography meets Storytellers.” Each week, Isaak will talk to another artist and ask them who their influences were and how that got where they are. The show will also have live performances.

Female Forces, a show in the same vein as COPS, will follow female police officers in a suburb of Chicago as they fight crime day in and day out.

And Why I Ran, which takes a different approach to police chase shows, will feature interviews with people who were on the lam and led police on high-speed chases.
