Rob Morrison has resigned his position as a WCBS New York news anchor, effective immediately.Morrison was arrested Feb. 17 and charged with "strangulation, threatening and disorderly conduct" in a dispute with his wife, Ashley, a CBS MoneyWatch reporter, at their Connecticut home.
"My family is my first and only priority right now and I have informed CBS 2 management that I need to put all of my time and energy into making sure that I do what's best for my wife and my son," he said in a statement. "I very much appreciate the opportunity that CBS 2 has given me and I thank them for accepting my decision."
Morrison joined WCBS in 2009 and anchored the morning and noon news.

As a newcomer to NYC, I had been looking for a local newscast that works for me. So far, haven't found any, as the local news broadcasts here are amateurish. The AM news on WCBS2 here is unwatchable. You have the very fake Mary Calvi, along with this Rob Morrison, who I knew there was something "off" about him. He was also very fake, though not in the "look how pretty I am Mary Calvi kind of way." So glad he's fired. Who would want to work alongside such a creep.

I'm assuming that anchor changes could and might be in the works for WCBS, following Morrison's resignation.
I could picture WCBS experimenting with 2 female anchors on morning news... Mary Calvi being paired up with either Dana Tyler (from WCBS 6PM and WLNY 9PM news) or Cindy Hsu (from weekend news)... WCBS management seeing if such an experiment would work.
