AccuWeather Hits Record Page Views
Tops 47 million page views for online and mobile properties on July 18

Records broken for individual properties on that day include 16 million page views at AccuWeather.com according to Omniture; 17.1 million pages views at the m.accuweather.com mobile website according to Amobee; and over 14 million page views on the AccuWeather mobile apps, according to Amobee.
"Weather is an important part of our audiences' everyday life, but it takes critical significance during severe weather events," noted Jim Candor, executive VP and chief business officer of digital media at the company. The "peak of over 47 million page views is one example of how our audience turns to AccuWeather for the most reliable weather information."
Several years ago, it was my understanding that Accuweather tried to get legislation passed in Congress that would restrict NWS data to the public. Bill was either defeated or didn't make it through committee because of public outcry. If this is true, it calls into question what Accuweather is about.

This has to be one of the worst websites when it comes to predicting weather. They're usually wrong 8 out of 10 times and even with all their fancy gadgets and gimmicks and their outlandish diagrams for displaying cold and warm fronts and such, it's not a well-organized channel. Give me NOAA.GOV anytime over this slop of a station.
