ABC News Apologizes for Incorrectly Connecting Colorado Shooter to Tea Party
Brian Ross originally reported connection on 'Good Morning America' Friday morning

"ABC News and Brian Ross apologize for the mistake, and for disseminating that information before it was properly vetted," the network said in a correction posted to its website.
Brian Ross originally made the incorrect connection on Good Morning America Friday, saying, "There is a Jim Holmes of Aurora, Colo., page on the Colorado Tea Party site as well, talking about him joining the Tea Party last year. Now we don't know if this is the same Jim Holmes -- but this is Jim Holmes of Aurora, Colo."
The reporting was later clarified on-air during an ABC News special report.
An online apology is insufficient. If Apple has to advertise that Samsung did not copy the iPad, the repercussions for such an outrageous breach of journalistic conduct should merit something far more severe. What are they teaching in journalism courses these days? Remember when everything had to be vetted? I'm going to watch 'All The Presidents Men' now, to remind myself that days of journalistic integrity actually existed at one time!

Brian Ross is no stranger to controversey. We live in that day and age where "controversey sells"... it's sort of a "shock and awe".
