A&E Renews ‘Longmire'

Western drama gets second season order

A&E has renewed Western drama Longmire for a second season, a network spokesperson confirmed Friday.

The Sunday night drama set a ratings record for the network in its debut June 3, premiering to 4.1 million total viewers as well as 1.4 million in the adults 25-54 demo.

Longmire is based on the book by Craig Johnson and stars Robert Taylor as a Wyoming sheriff and Katee Sackhoff as his new female deputy. The series is produced by Warner Horizon Television and is the third renewal for the studio on Friday following TNT's Dallas and Rizzoli & Isles.

I am writing about "Longmire" This quiet hit has become a must in my home. Personally I am so tired of Reality I think sometimes I could be ill, at least this show allows me to use my brain and I feel like I am a part of the show in solving crimes etc. This gentle giant of a show has the potential to run for a long time but it needs more ads to let people know you are there. Perhaps the "tech" savy world could take a few hours off each week to actually think about something and learn to "converse" and think for them selves and solve some problems along the way, using their own brain. This is without a doubt one of the best programs you are now running and if you could bring me more great programming in the future and rid the world of all reality I wouldn't care. I have enough probems of my own and i just can't believe people are so dumb. Thank you for, at least I hope, for reading my e mail. I perfer pen and paper but figured someone might actually read e mail besides Cursive is on it's way out so who knows who will be able to read what in the not to distant future. Again thank you for bringing this show to A&E!! Hope more are on the way
