Sony and Oprah Eye 2010 Launch For Nate Berkus Show
Following success of Dr. Oz, companies teaming up for second syndicated project
By Ben Grossman -- Broadcasting & Cable, 11/17/2009 12:45:00 AMOprah Winfrey Show-regular Nate Berkus, according to sources with knowledge of the dealings. The new project should be ready for a fall 2010 rollout.
SPT is also behind Harpo’s rookie syndicated show Dr. Oz, another show built around an Oprah personality – a calling card that has been as good as any for talk show success in syndication in recent years.
Dr. Oz has been a strong player for the two companies with the best first-run talk show debut in seven years, including time period growth of 50%, 29% lead-in growth and ratings that are up 17% from its premiere. The show averaged a 3.0 rating last week.
Oz marked the first show that SPT and Harpo have done together, after Harpo had launched previous Oprah personality shows such as Dr. Phil and Rachael Ray through CBS Television Distribution, which currently distributes Winfrey’s broadcast syndication talker.
A second consecutive Harpo show for SPT is not only a coup for the company, but will increase speculation that if Winfrey does continue her daily talk show past 2011 and doesn’t move it to her proposed OWN cable network, it will end up being distributed by Sony instead of CBS.
Berkus has been a featured design expert for The Oprah Winfrey Show since he first appeared in 2001, and also hosts his own show on Winfrey’s satellite radio channel. He also hosted Winfrey’s 2008 ABC reality series, Oprah’s Big Give.
Congratulations to Nate on his new show. I am really looking forward to it. I have been following Nate since Opra first introduced him and I think that his work is amazing. If Nate is looking for projects for his show, I would love to recommend my sister, Jean, who lives in PA. She is a wonderful, single Mother, with 3 great children in a home that she does not have the money or time to update. She works full time and her life revolves around her family. Thank you and I will be one of Nate's many fans watching on 9/13. Best regards, Mary Ann

I am looking forward to the Nate Berkus show.
I was wondering if he could help on designing a house for a 8 year old girl named Bella Tucker that recently went through a quadrouple amputation of her limbs.
This was due to an extremely rare case of strep.
Her website is www.bellatucker.org
I am hoping to help this girl out any way I can.

I am so interested in Nate Berkus and his wonderful ability to transform a plain room into something spectacular. Could you please tell me if he will have a television show anytime soon, the channel it will appear on and the time it will be shown?
Looking forward to the talents of Nate Berkus.

I am sooooo looking forward to enjoying Nate's new show.
I have a problem that I have never seen addressed on any makeover show and it has destroyed my life for the past 17 years. How in the world can I obtain a mailing address for Nate's show before I die, which will be soon if I don't get some help (at least suggestions)?
