HLN's new 9 p.m. talk show with Joy Behar debuted Sept. 29 with 559,000 total viewers. That's an 8% increase over the network's 9 p.m. average for the month and 3% over the same month last year. In news' target sales demographic of 25-54 year olds, Behar's show pulled in 215,000 viewers increasing the time slot average for the month 14% and 9% year-to-year.Behar replaced a rebroadcast of Issues with Jane Velez-Mitchell. She inherits the time slot previously occupied by Glenn Beck, who left the network last year for Fox News Channel, where his 5 p.m. show has built a large and devoted following.
Behar, a co-host of the ABC daytime talker The View, is coming into a tough cable news time slot. Fox News' Sean Hannity dominates the 9 p.m. hour while Larry King Live, on sister network CNN, is in a neck-and-neck battle with MSNBC's Rachel Maddow Show.
For the just concluded third quarter ratings period, Hannity averaged 2.6 million viewers with 713,000 in the demo followed by Larry King Live (1.2 million viewers, 350,000 in the demo) and Rachel Maddow (992,000 viewers, 298,000 in the demo).

I had hopes for a fresh view, a change. I've been disappointed. I forgave her in the beginning as simply trying to find her rhythem..and have tuned in several times, sporadically, since. Nope. It just doesn't grab me. Joy's name is often linked with "comedienne" and "funny". However, CNN is truly struggling when they try to sell abrasiveness, snideness and meanness as entertainment. I join the ranks of the others who choose NOT to watch her again.

Loud and fast talking is not due to the jitters, that's Joy. Can tolerate her on The View, but not twice in the same day. Never been out of NYC, totally out of touch with the rest of the county. As they said on the AOL View Board recently, opinionated, self-absorbed and often belligerant.

I just watched Joy vs the woman lawyer(Russian?) who is representing service people vs Obama's birth record. I am SO disappointed in Joy's mentality on this. Joy, you are WRONG that this woman stands alone with the thought that Obama is not a birth-right citizen. There are quite a many of my friends/acquaintances, let alone my children, who believe he is/was not eligible to be President, and should not be. I respect the question of "What is the point, what will happen if he truly is not", but this should not have gone this far, and I believe a "mis-election" revote should happen, or whomever came in 2nd place. Get a grip woman, you were absolutely rude to this "guest" of your show, and did not let her speak fully. I thought at first your show was going to be good, but you are a biased B.

She demonstrates too much bias. Shee's very hard to watch; painful in fact. CNN find someone else...please.
