Production of TruTV’s “In Session” Programming Block Shifting to HLN
Affiliate marketing activities moving to Atlanta, where truTV’s sister networks under Turner Broadcasting reside

Production of In Session, truTV’s successful daytime block of courtroom shows, is being shifted to HLN, the company confirmed Tuesday. Production of trial coverage for In Session will move to HLN Nov. 16. The move will allow In Session to use the production capabilities of HLN and the CNN news organization.
HLN will oversee production and studio shows from Atlanta. The network will create studio space and assign production staff and on-air talent to In Session. The move will result in job losses in New York and the addition of positions in Atlanta.
TruTV is also restructuring its marketing efforts, moving affiliate marketing activities to Atlanta, where truTV’s sister networks under Turner Broadcasting reside. The brand strategy and marketing group will now include the digital content and multiplatform development group.
"Production of truTV's In Session trial coverage will shift from New York to HLN in Atlanta, effective Nov. 16, to leverage the unrivaled production capabilities and infrastructure of the CNN organization, which includes HLN. This move will result in some position elimination in New York and position growth in Atlanta, which we are currently addressing," a network statement said. "There will be no interruption to In Session's programming schedule. We are also restructuring truTV's marketing staff, which will include a reduction of some positions in New York."

The worse trial coverage is when it ends on the network, while it is still going on - the ads during the questions is unexpected, there is better time to run the ads - the best way to add the spots is to keep recording the trial and pick up where the interuption was - once a live trial is started it should not end until the judge calls it quits for the day - the very best trial coverage was the first OJ trial when he killed his wife, all trials on TV should follow the same type of coverage.

Gavel to gavel coverage is what trial watchers want. I've watched CTV and now In Session since it began in the early 1990's (was it 1991?) and recently wrote to Ashleigh begging her to stop talking so much and let us hear the trial when it is live. She has been doing much better which I truly appreciate. I read she is also not going to continue to anchor, but I know she can do many other things. I'd love to see Rikki Klieman come to HLN, but I heard her say that she is "moving back" which when I heard that I assumed she meant to NY. Perhaps she will move to Atlanta and be part of In Session again at HLN. She knows exactly how to anchor live trials and keep viewers extremely happy, is super in every way and an asset to any employer.
I noticed that Cat Toy wrote and I wanted to say, "Hi!" from parrotgurl. We had great times talking on the CTV message boards a few years back. The idea of 2 stations carrying trials is very interesting. I remember when I paid for live Internet coverage so I could watch complete live coverage even when CTV went to commercial. When it became In Session, that ended and then we never got complete live Internet coverage, but got snippets instead. It's just not the same!
When CTV started, they aired all court action; they aired what others considered boring, they aired attorney arguments which I loved to watch and from which I learned much. If the trial was on the West coast and ran until 8pm ET, it was all aired! Commercials were only taken when there was a complete break. I'd love to have those days back. I'll sit and watch an hour of commercials all at once if I can have all live court coverage.
So many don't realize that what they think is similar to watching paint dry, those of us who love to see our system at work, love the "boring" parts, the parts that seem tedious to others. Maybe the TV folks don't understand, but I tell you that trial lovers know what I mean.
Good luck to HLN and I will be searching more and trying to find out what Atlanta is planning. Live coverage - all day, that's what we want. I want my Court TV, even if on HLN. Hope to hear from trial watchers!'>I also nearly fainted when I heard Jamie say that truTV was no longer going to carry court TV coverage and I quickly did an Internet search and found it would be moving to HLN in Atlanta. I was sorry to read, and hope it's not true that Jack Ford would no longer be an anchor. He is such a class act, with a super brain and kind heart, that if it is true, I will miss him desperately.

I was taken aback when last week, I heard Jami Floyd say her show was ending. I was devastated. I quickly went on the internet and found out the truth. The trial coverage is moving to Atlanta. I am retired so the live trials I depend on. I do work part time and I tape the show when I am not home. If the live trials ended, I would have to get another part time job. I at one time watched soaps during the day, now I only watch trials, sometime old ones. I search for the verdict on old trials. My first trial I ever watched(I didn't at first get CourtTv on my cable system) was the woman who hit a homeless man and left him to die in her windshield while parked in her garage. She got 50 years. I hope the change improves the coverage. I hope Ashley, Jack, and Jami go with the next network, as well as Jean and Beth. I love their talent and knowledge.

I am at least thrilled to find out that trial coverage will be continued (I nearly fell off my chair when I heard Jamie say that In Session was ending). I have been watching the network since it came on the air in 1991, when it was mostly trial coverage and little anchor interruptions. I do enjoy Beth's correspondence coverage, so I hope she stays with the network. By the way, we viewers love the live trials, and please avoid the repeat stuff if possible!

I just heard Jamie Floyd announce that In Session was terminating. I am so happy to see that it is being picked up by HLN. I am a loyal fan for many years, and look forward to continuing live coverage of trials across the country. Like so many viewers have already said, my hope is that the coverage can extend beyond 3:00 pm, as it was years ago.
Thank You
