Production of In Session, truTV’s successful daytime block of courtroom shows, is being shifted to HLN, the company confirmed Tuesday. Production of trial coverage for In Session will move to HLN Nov. 16. The move will allow In Session to use the production capabilities of HLN and the CNN news organization.
HLN will oversee production and studio shows from Atlanta. The network will create studio space and assign production staff and on-air talent to In Session. The move will result in job losses in New York and the addition of positions in Atlanta.
TruTV is also restructuring its marketing efforts, moving affiliate marketing activities to Atlanta, where truTV’s sister networks under Turner Broadcasting reside. The brand strategy and marketing group will now include the digital content and multiplatform development group.
"Production of truTV's In Session trial coverage will shift from New York to HLN in Atlanta, effective Nov. 16, to leverage the unrivaled production capabilities and infrastructure of the CNN organization, which includes HLN. This move will result in some position elimination in New York and position growth in Atlanta, which we are currently addressing," a network statement said. "There will be no interruption to In Session's programming schedule. We are also restructuring truTV's marketing staff, which will include a reduction of some positions in New York."

Ryan Smith is an excellant host.He is professional and knowledgeable.I like that he is so calm and not easily exciteable. He speaks well and makes attempts to allow all guests panel affair chance at sharing their opinions. Although he is often times overtalked by his guest he remains courteous and calm.Keep up the good work Ryan there are a lot of people who enjoy watching your work.

Earlier in the day(Monday June 19) the Judge Perry mentioned a "sequestration issue". Could that be the reason for the recess until tomorrow?

I enjoy watching Ryan Smith, he is one of my favorites. I don't understand why some people have a problem with him. He seems to understand the cases he covers and makes it easy for the veiwer to understand the cases too.

If I hear Ryan say "Unbeleivable testimony" or "You WON'T want to miss THIS!" one more time I may have to give up a long-held CourtTV / IN Session habit. Neither Ryan nor Vinnie seem to be able to get through a single break in the action without resorting to one or two of their stock "breathless" phrases. And can someone PLEASE tell Mike Brooks to tone it down... he shouts like a sports announcer every time he's called upon. Annoying, to say the least. Production value has fallen precipitously since moving to Atlanta. Also - WOW - dragging out a taped trial (Calista) over two weeks by repeating bits and pieces of the testimony ad nauseum is too much.
