Howard Stern Sidekick Artie Lange Fires Back At HBO
'Joe Buck Live' makes headlines with debut episode

If HBO Sports wanted to make some headlines with its new Joe Buck Live, then the debut episode was a roaring success. While nabbing the first interview with Brett Favre since he and the Minnesota Vikings began their most recent courtship was a major coup in the sports world, the decision to book Howard Stern sidekick and regular David Letterman and Jimmy Kimmel guest Artie Lange may have brought just as much attention in the end.
Following Lange's appearance on the new HBO show Monday night - in which Lange's typical expletive-filled shtick took aim at targets such as Buck and Cowboys QB Tony Romo - HBO Sports president Ross Greenburg was quoted in USA Today saying Lange "bordered on bad taste" with his "mean-spirited" tone.
So on the Howard Stern Show Tuesday morning on Sirius-XM radio, Lange responded.
"And Ross Greenburg, you mother f-cker, you came up to me and said, ‘If [fellow panelists] Paul [Rudd] and Jason [Sudeikis] get boring, you go nuts.' So go f-ck yourself, I don't care how important you are in this business."
Lange did say that following the appearance,"[Buck] was very friendly to me afterwards."
The show also included Favre's acknowledgment that he wanted to return to football with the Vikings if healthy, the first time he has spoken about his interest in returning after his time with the New York Jets and Green Bay Packers.

Buck should be glad someone actually watched his show, Lang did what he was told, did a great job, but Buck only has 3 shows left...I don't think he should worry about how anyone feels after the 1st show....noone cared about him before...Jack Buck ruled, Joe Buck, tool.

Artie is funny and Joe Buck is a tool. Joe Buck is a horrible broadcaster who lacks talent and HBO should cut its losses and cancel Buck's show. They should do whatever they can, crawling on their hands and knees, to get Costas back. How Joe got on the air is beyond me, why he is still on is beyond me. I guess that the same network executives that cancel good television in favor of the television and radio equivalent of Pablum are still in power. More is the pity for all of us.

Artie did kill last night. He made what was a terribly boring, terrible, overly-dry and rediculously pretentious show and made it INTERESTING. HBO Sports is thanking Jesus Christ in Heaven for Artie Lange's appearance last night.

Lange actually thinks he killed in his segment. Obviously he's delusional. He ruins Stern's show and now this. I guess he thinks being crass and outrageous is funny. Memo to Lange---it's not and you're not

Not a good idea to doublespeak someone who has roughly 5 hours a day of influential airtime and over a million listeners.
