Grass Valley, the established broadcast equipment vendor that was put up for sale by French conglomerate Thomson last month, announced some good news Wednesday: a new deal with Fox for its K2 video server technology.
Grass Valley announced that Fox has placed a multi-million dollar order with Grass Valley for a large high-definition K2 Media Server installation as part of continued enhancements to its file-based, HD network distribution infrastructure. Fox is a long-time customer of Grass Valley, and already uses the company’s K2 and Profile XP servers in several facilities, many of which have been in operation for years.
“Fox has a reputation for being ahead of the curve when it comes to technology implementation,” said Grass Valley SVP Jeff Rosica in a statement. “We are proud to be a valued partner to Fox, and appreciate their continued confidence in Grass Valley and our many products and technologies including the K2 server family.”
