TCA: Style Network Bringing Back 'Ruby'
New season will show her living her life after losing more than 150 pounds

Style Network is giving freshman docu-series Ruby a second-season pickup. The renewal isn’t much of a surprise; Ruby was easily Style’s most successful show last season, averaging nearly 400,000 viewers per new episode, more than doubling its primetime average. Its premiere November 9 was the most-watched and highly-rated premiere in network history.
“Ruby has inspired a passionate fan base that is deeply devoted to her and we are incredibly excited to bring back the series for another season,” said Salaam Coleman Smith, President, The Style Network, announcing the renewal. “The response from our audience both on-air and online has been overwhelming and viewers have been motivated by Ruby to make changes in their own lives.”
Ruby follows the life of Ruby Gettinger, a severely obese woman in Savannah, Georgia, as she tries to lose weight and encourage others to live healthier lifestyles. Ruby has lost more than 150 pounds since the series began. The new season will catch up with her as she lives under the 350 pound mark for the first time in over a decade, and as she pursues new career opportunities and relationships.

I was worried too when I didn't see new episodes. Thought they dropped it. When does new season start?

Ruby is one of the most amazing people I have ever seen. I think that her commitment to getting healthy has, and will continue to inspire many viewers to follow in her footsteps. Her spirit is amazing.Go Ruby!!! Joyce

What a great show "Ruby" has turned out to be, and what a lovely lady Ruby truly is. I have enjoyed watching every eposode and have found inspiration in my weight loss journey watching the struggles of Ruby and felt that she is an inspiration to all of us. I have lost 70 lbs. and counting and am anxious for her new season to begin. Thank you for bringing us such a wonderful show staring such an interesting person. Keep up the good work.

I was getting worried about the show when I couldn't find new episodes lately. Glad to see it renewed. I have never battled obesity personally, but I can say I was NEVER the type of person to 'bash' the overweight. It is a war in their lives and one that others can't understand unless they are intimately involved somehow. Ruby's friends are priceless. Such unconditional love, going both ways. Keep up the good work, Style!
