Sean Hannity will not get a permanent co-host to replace Alan Colmes, his partner of 12 years. Instead, Hannity will helm his Fox News show with a rotating panel that will include a liberal, a conservative and an X Factor.
The new show, which will bow Jan. 12, will simply be called Hannity, although his panel will get their own moniker -- The Great American Panel.
Hannity will add a few new elements to the mix, including the Hate Hannity Hotline, a compilation of colorful comments -- voicemail and video messages -- from listeners of Hannity's syndicated radio program.
Colmes announced last month that he would leave the daily grind of Hannity & Colmes. He will make his last appearance on H&C Jan. 9. He will stay at FNC as a liberal commentator and is also developing a weekend program for the network. The production staff for Hannity will remain in place.
Bill Shine, senior vice president., programming at FNC, said in a statement: "When Alan Colmes left us..., we decided to build a new program utilizing Sean’s signature talents rather than take on the monumental task of replacing someone as exceptional as Alan and attempting to rebuild a rare chemistry that is unlikely to ever be matched in cable television again.”

I'm not down on Sean Hannity, I'm just quite surprised that someone of his exceptionally low caliber has been able to squeak his way into position as a point man for conservatism. If this is all we got, we ain't got a prayer, so they say.
Sean is shuck meets jive with regard to the critical founding concepts of this nation, and he hides behind flag, Reagan and necessary, dutiful obsequious comments regarding Limbaugh to cover for his inadequacies.
Rush Limbaugh is fifty times, at least, the conservative strongman and broadcaster when compared to Sean's wilting deer-meets-headlights worldview.
Sean looks alright, reads the prompter well and doesn't show up drunk. That's about all anyone with an IQ above 80 needs if your brand of conservatism doesn't exceed the depth of today's headlines or how high one can wave a flag.
If he interviews Lee Greenwood or hawks his concert series one more time, I'm certain to vomit.
As for Sean as a genuinely prepared, deeply thoughtful conservative - there's nothing to see here.
Sean is, however, a great American. He is living proof that anyone with time and determination can succeed in this great nation. That some wit-limited boob with decent hair can make a living spewing rehearsed platitudes for fifteen years, with no substance, is probably only possible in America.
Fox News is my preferred information network, yet Sean Hannity remains a top shelf, genuine embarrassment to his network and the conservative movement in general.
Everyone is afraid to tackle the issue of Sean's total lackluster performance because Sean probably is a good guy, and has earned himself a position of stature. I don't deny him that, but I do deny him any level of respect from the standpoint of a conservative viewer looking for a leader for our cause. His arguments are paper thin, and his conversation skills are so altogether elementary that it's shocking some of the guests don't give up and begin interviewing themselves.
It's like Kid Rock's sober cousin put on a suit and started talking news one day.
