.2 Launch Pushed to Spring

Digital network had been scheduled to launch in December.

The debut of digital network .2 has been pushed back from December to the spring. Pronounced “dot-two,” the entertainment network was scheduled to premiere Dec. 8. Network executives said a combination of factors contributed to the decision, including the digital conversion in February and, of course, the shoddy state of the economy. Senior V.P./COO Clark Morehouse also said .2 had not yet signed up enough affiliate partners, who get a revenue sharing deal with .2.

  What happens if a station already has its .2 position filled? Do you put .2 on .3? This is a really bad name. No wonder there are few takers. Here's a "betta" idea: Call it "MO'BETTA TV. Get it? It's "more" and it's "better" because it's digital and it's free over the air. Hey, that's as least as good as "dot-two" and you can put "MO'BETTA TV" on any digichannel and not confuse people, like your name does. And it's hip to the times. "Dot-two" sounds like a mispronounciation of something you have painted on your arm.
