Disney-ABC’s new, first-run weekly hour, Legend of the Seeker, turned in respectable premiere ratings, improving its time periods by an average of 15% compared to the prior month. Legend of the Seeker scored a 1.5 rating/3 share primary-run average among 54 metered markets.
The results are particularly noteworthy considering the show faced strong competition from a dramatic college football game in which number-seven ranked Texas Tech beat cross-state rival and number-one ranked University of Texas in, literally, the final second of the game.
In top markets, Legend of the Seeker improved time periods by 14% on Tribune-owned KPIX New York, 80% on Tribune-owned WGN Chicago, 117% on Hearst-Argyle-owned WCVB Boston, 30% on Gannett-owned WATL Atlanta, 67% on Tribune-owned WDCW Washington, D.C., and 33% on Tribune-owned KIAH Houston.
The show’s performance improved 21% from Saturday to Sunday, moving from a 1.4/3 on Saturday, Nov. 1, to a 1.7/3 on Sunday, Nov. 2
In key demographics, Legend of the Seeker improved Oct. 2008 time periods by as much as 40% among men 25-54, 25% among men 18-49 and 20% among women 18-49, among all airings of the show.

Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind is the origional Book Version. I'm an avid fan of the Book Series and the Premier only left me saying OMG they are butchering it. Zedd is not described as the guy from back to the future but more like a scarescrow - think David Bowie from the Labyrinth. I know I'm picking it apart but I LOVE the books. Great series although the beginning misses much, however the book does start slowly. Richard isn't learning anything he's being handed it all. Seeker is to seek the truth not have it dumped in his lap like a baby Gar... Kay's hair isn't near long enough and her dress doesn't have the square neck, Chase -.... more like needs to be played by the ROCK. Good job on addie though.

I thought it was a great Premiere I wasnt able to watch the whole thing because I had to catch the bus was watching with my mom at her house since I dont get WGN where I live. But I pretty much know mostly of what happened after I left since I read the book. I am very happy with the casting. not sure on Darkhen Rahl though the guy seems a bit too small in my opinion.

The show airs at different times in every market- and
this was a one time two hour premiere. Watch for day
time repeats in your market if you can't stay up for
it- or set the dvr
