D.L. Hughley Tapped By CNN
Comedian will host new series taking a comedic look at the news, interviews with newsmakers.

Comedian D.L. Hughley has been tapped by CNN to host a new weekend program. D.L. Hughley Breaks TheNews (working title)program will tape in New York before a live audience, and will feature Hughley’s comedic take on the week’s news as well as interviews with newsmakers.
“D.L. is a news junkie who is bursting with things to say about what is going on in the world – most of them funny, all of them thoughtful, none of them predictable,” said Jon Klein, president of CNN/U.S. in a statement “When you watch as much news as our audience does, there comes a time you just want to stop and laugh – and that time will be Saturday nights at 10 on CNN.”
Former Comedy Central and CBS executive and CNN producer Mitch Semel will serve as executive producer for CNN. D.L. Hughley Breaks The News will premiere on CNN Saturday October 25 at 10 p.m.

How EMBARRASING! I can't believe CNN has stooped to this level! As a Black, I'm insulted. This reinforces the neg stereotypes. Are Americans so dumb they have to be entertained to keep up w' news? Ah! This the cotinued effort of 'dumbing down' the news for those w' an attention span of a child. I'm having to turn to outside sources (BBC ) more and more to get the real scoop on whats going on in this country. How sad!

I hate this show and we all need to write CNN to have it removed. I feels as DL sold his soul to the devil and I am a DL Hughley fan but I am really upset by the timing and the material of the show. I don't know who at CNN is trying to sabotage the Obama campaign but they are doing a good job by airing this show. Why now, what is CNN trying to obtain except upsetting the election. I could see Fox airing a show like this but not CNN. I always thought this was a non partisian station but it is clearly someone has an agenda of swaying the undecided vote.

I am delighted that Mr. Hughley finds serious issues so amusing. After all, his life will not change much no matter whom is elected President. However, should Obama be elected and implement his new tax plan, millions of middle Americans like myself will be out of a job and our lives will change drastically. In this global economic slowdown, other Countries are offering everything under the sun to lure American companies to their soil. Small companies that depend on reasonably priced goods and services from the larger corporations that have moved overseas will also go out of business, lay off employees or pass the increased cost onto concumers.
Mr Hughley had better laugh now, cuz we are no longer going to afford to go to the box office to see his movies.

Instead of laughing, the 2008 viewers should have been crying while watching the old film clips and how little integrity DL Hughley has for himself.
CNN stick to what you are known for-- great news. Voters are smarter, the show lacks quality and is an insult to the intelligence of voters.

Very dissapointed in your show.....my expectations were not met. This show was very sterotypical....he's living up to what other races expect out of African Americans.
Please DO NOT CONTINUE THIS IGNORANCE.....IT REALLY MAKES AFRICAN AMERICANS LOOK BAD ALONG WITH OBAMA SUPPORTERS.
