With its “Indecision 2008” presidential election coverage, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart is breaking nearly all of its ratings records. (For complete election coverage, click here.)
The October 1 installment of the Comedy Central series drew 2.4 million viewers, making it the most watched night in the program’s history. Year to date the show has averaged 1.8 million viewers an episode.
In addition, September was its most watched month in history in both total viewers and P18-49. In fact, each of the previous three weeks has been the show’s best ever, with each subsequent week surpassing the previous one.
In an effort to keep that momentum going, both The Daily Show and sister program The Colbert Report will forgo a scheduled hiatus the week of October 13, instead presenting new episodes through the election November 4, when they will present a one hour live special at 10 p.m.
The Oct. 8 episode of The Daily Show included an interview with Michelle Obama, wife of Democratic Presidential nominee Barack Obama. Comedy Central has made video of the interview available online, along with the full episode. View part 1 below and part 2 here.

I love the Daily Show, and have always watched. Humor is usually the best medicine, your show pains me now. I am a Democrat and will not be voting for Obama. Competencies and experience are part of what I do for a living. I do not hire anyone without them for our executive positions. I do trust McCain and I as one of his constituents have voiced my opinion these past years, and they were angry concerns. He does listen to the voice of the people, more than anyone could say about Bush. Obama can speak but has no experience or competencies. He has done nothing for this country. I will not be watching the Daily Show until after the election. Young minds without experience is naivety and your show guides these minds maybe where they should not go.
I hire interns all the time, they blunder, make many mistakes, it is ok someone is there to cover for them. They get experience and learn their lessons. Wisdom comes with experience and there is no short cut. Even when someone can speak well.
I am just tired of all the garbage and I cannot not laugh at your show anymore. I will come back after the elections and I will know it is just humor instead of all these young people thinking it is fact.

I love the Daily Show and Jon Stewart and Company.
But, I have stopped watching and will wait until after the Election........ I will be back....... just not now.
I do not like the media bias on other networks....and
I don't like the media bias and have become sensitized to the new directions taken in the passion to support, crossing lines ......... no longer informing but manipulations and control of how Americans
think. PLEASE... I AM NOT SAYING THE DAILY SHOW DOES THIS..........
I feel many take advantage that many Americans are busy with their lives of survival with work, children, families ..... and all that goes with the need to be informed.
I am finding it very difficult to bear witness to all this, so now when I tune into The Daily Show and find a bias.... but not abusive..... and even funny....... it no long is funny..... it hurts.
I feel a deep gut fear in the direction our Country is going.
Our Country Hurts....... we are in danger and all this is serious, not funny.
How do you make fun of a family member dying? (Kind of humor)
I am a Democrat voting for McCain......... of course he is not perfect.... he is a Republican.
But, I truly believe what is needed to move forward in these troubled times is the action and cooperation of both Parties........ too big for one party alone.
An Obama win will be solo........ and doom with his tax plans.......... Double Capital Gains, Dividend Tax (tripled for God's sake..... 40%......, there is state tax too on both...how will the retired live?) How will the stock market survive? What good will there be in equity in home values, or even a desire to obtain that goal if 50% is taken away?
Obama to tax the rich and give to the poor? Who will there be to invest in America? What will keep the "rich" from leaving and going off shore even with their investments? The new jobs? All government? Who will pay? Taxpayers? We are government.
McCain and the beauty of being "old"....... his career is over.... he owes no one and he can move forward with policies that will benefit all of us..... he can change his mind and I am sure will on the Tax for the upper brackets..... once in.....who does he have to impress?
One fact...... for sure..........
He loves this country and he is an honest man. He will do all he can to keep us out of harms way and protect us both domestically and Internationally...........
How do you make fun of that? Where is the humor in that? This is why I can't watch.
This is not funny...... what is happening to our country is tragic...... it is serious and dangerous.
Obama is not the right choice.
Here it is.............. You ask a 12 year old to go to the school and pick up the children.
Scary...... you bet.
Now, you ask the say kid 4-8 years later to do the same thing......... not scary... he has had time
to develop......
Obama has nothing to offer but hope.... a leap of faith........ his first error in judgment was his
rush to run. How dare he come to us without a foundation and a solid resume.
They call you racist if you can't vote for him? Get real....... that is not real.
We are lucky McCain is our other choice.... he is moderate and Bipartisan. He has worked with most Democrats and share respect with them.
I will resume watching the Daily Show after the Elections....... love the show......
See you in November...........
