World News was watched by 9.73 million people with a 2.5 rating/10 share in the 25-54 demographic, according to Nielsen Media Research fast affiliate data.

That was more than 2 million more viewers than NBC's Nightly News (7.51 million viewers with a 2 rating/8 share in demo) and 3.57 million more viewers than CBS Evening News (6.15 million, 1.6/8).

Gibson's second interview with Palin on Thursday's Nightline gave the late-night news program a win over NBC's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and CBS' Late Show with David Letterman in households. Nightline had a 4.2 household rating compared with Late Show's 3.6 and The Tonight Show's 3.3, according to Nielsen overnight metered-market data.

ABCNews.com racked up nearly 3 million page views and 600,000 video views of the Palin interviews through early Friday morning.

Gibson's interviews with Palin continue on Friday's World News and 20/20.

(The ratings are preliminary time-period numbers and may change when final data are collected.)
