Fox News Channel kicked off the Republican National Convention Tuesday with a huge ratings win, racking up 6.17 million viewers for the 10 p.m. hour when the broadcast networks also carry convention coverage.

That marked an increase of nearly 1 million viewers compared with the same night during the 2004 RNC.
NBC was second at 10 p.m. -- and topped its broadcast competition -- with 4.46 million viewers, followed by CNN (3.22 million), ABC (3.09 million), CBS (2.92 million) and MSNBC (1.59 million).
For primetime (8 p.m.-11 p.m.), Fox News averaged just over 5 million viewers, with 1.61 million of them in news' target demographic of 25- to 54-year-olds. CNN had 2.5 million (958,000 in the demo), followed by MSNBC with 1.42 million (570,000).

First note:
While it may be true that the main reason the ratings were up for the GOP was because of inquisitive Americans wanting a better look, it also speaks volumes about the optimism and open mindedness of Palin’s message. If it wasn’t, it wouldn’t have drawn more viewers than Obama. Let’s be honest, everyone knows the talking points of both parties. Agreed?? There was a reason Palin and McCain got such a large number of people doing a double take.
Second note:
Why is it that the media who portrayed Palin as someone who only ran a lemonade stand now seems so shocked that tons of viewers are put-out at the unfair coverage?
What does it mean to be and American: Just give me the facts in an unbiased fashion, and let me make up my own mind. I can’t stand it when a “news anchor†tries to slant things. If I wanted to hear a slanted version of the news I would watch Keith Olbermann, Chris Mathews, Bill O’Riely or Sean Hannity. They are commentators not news castors.
