The backers of Slamball said CBS will carry the championship game Nov. 2 at 5 p.m. following a National Football League game.

Slamball, a co-production of IMG Sports Media and Tollin Productions, is a variation on basketball that includes "full-contact" and trampolines to ad more slam to the dunks.
According to IMG, cable network Versus will begin airing its eight-game Slamball season Aug. 31-Sept. 14 and again Sept. 28-Oct. 26.
Six teams comprise the SlamBall league, the Bouncers, Hombres, Maulers, Mob, Rumble and Slashers. The games go quickly, in four, five-minute quarters.
IMG described it this way: "Slamball features two teams (playing four-on-four) engaged in 20-minute games (four, five-minute quarters). The playing surface is approximately the size of a regulation basketball court, with four springbeds built into the court around each 10-foot basket. The remainder of the court is fully shock-absorbent and surrounded by 12-foot plexiglass walls that keep the ball in play at all times."
