Christopher Knight, known to millions of aging TV viewers as Peter Brady, was named host of Debmar-Mercury’s new game show, Trivial Pursuit: America Plays. The show premieres in national syndication Monday, Sept. 22.
“I've always been a Trivial Pursuit fan and I can really see TV audiences becoming obsessed with this addictive format,” Knight said in a statement. “Once you start it’s hard to stop, and I think viewers’ fascination with pop culture will keep them coming back for more. Or they can tune in and be bathed in my boyish enthusiasm.”
Trivial Pursuit: America Plays is a half-hour game show with a twist: Viewers will send in videos of themselves posing trivia questions to contestants. Those who want to submit a video question can do so online. Viewers whose questions are selected get to play along with the game, winning cash if the on-air contestant loses the round.
The show, based on Hasbro’s popular board game, is produced by Wheeler-Sussman Productions and distributed by Debmar-Mercury.
