Anyone looking to gauge the growing impact of the Hispanic TV-viewing audience needed look no further than a three-hour pop-culture awards show, Premios Juventud (Young People's Picks), on Univision's WXTV in the nation's top TV market, New York.

According to the station, the show was the most-watched program in any language in the city Thursday night in both households and all key demos.
It was a generally lightly viewed night on the Big Four networks nationally, but the same could not be said for Univision or Hispanic viewing in the Big Apple. The special dominated primetime, drawing 352,000 viewers 18-49 vs. 126,000 watching Fox's lineup on WNYW, according to the station.
