The Wendy Williams Show, a new daytime talk show from Debmar-Mercury, began a six-week preview on Fox Television Stations Monday with strong ratings in New York and solid showings in Los Angeles and Dallas.

Airing live at 10 a.m. on WNYW New York, the show -- hosted by New York-based hip-hop and R&B DJ Wendy Williams -- led its time period among women 18-34 (2.9 rating/19 share), 18-49 (2.1/14) and 25-54 (1.9/13).
In Los Angeles, airing on KTTV, the show finished second in the 1 p.m. time period with a 0.8/2 rating, and it logged a 1.2/4 rating in the 11 a.m. period on KDFW Dallas.
The daily one-hour entertainment chat show is the first foray into first-run syndicated talk shows for Debmar-Mercury, which is co-producing the six-week preview with the Fox stations.

This show is horrendous! Wendy comes across as so ill prepared for her
guests that it's comical to watch.

I love Wendy''s persona and find the T.V show segments entertaining, informative, fresh... with the exception of the "Truth Booth", which is corny and contrived (J. Springer-ish). Personally, I would rather see a longer interaction between Wendy and her guest. So far, I enjoyed her interviews with James Denton and Al Roker. I was on vacation during the debut week and able to tune in at 1:00 PM (Los Angeles)1-2 days. A 6:00 PM time slot would be fantastic. Or... I suppose I should get in the swing and use DVR :) Wendy is very engaging, she seems aware that this forum is an opportunity to connect and influence thousands and she appears humble and gracious while still venturing out to be "over the top". The visual factor vs. the radio personality is fabulous. There she is prancing around in her stilettos and make-up and long fake (BLONDE) hair and wide grin (it reminds me of when I was a girl, dressing up in my Mother''s fine and glamourous "stuff") and it all seems so impromptu. She is truly bringing her radio personality to life in technicolor and I pray she does not deviate from what she''s got going on... which is something I truly can''t quite put my finger on. Wendy is wonderful. I wish her much success and happiness. I know she won''t forget where she came from (How You Doin''?) and in one more month, everyone who didn''t know will know exactly who she is! All that''s left to say is: YOU GO GURL!
