The National Basketball Association announced that its Website, NBA.com, set the all-time single day traffic record for visits during The NBA Finals yesterday, June 5, recording 5.6 million visits on the day of the first game between the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers, which the Celtics won 98-88.

The 5.6 million visits, however, does not represent the all-time single day record for traffic on NBA.com. That mark, of 8.6 million visits, was set on Mar. 18 of this year, when the Houston Rockets’ 22-game win streak came to an end.

The NBA says that including the playoffs, NBA.com has surpassed 1 billion visits in a full season for the first time ever with 1.2 billion visits to date. Overall visits have increased more than 60 percent this season compared to last year.
