John Landgraf reupped as president and general manager of FX Networks under a multiyear contract.

The renewal was announced by Fox Networks Group president and CEO Tony Vinciquerra.
Under the deal, Landgraf will continue overseeing FX, FX HD, Fox Movie Channel and FX Productions, reporting to Vinciquerra and operating out of Los Angeles.
Landgraf joined FX as president of entertainment in January 2004 and was upped to president/GM of FX Networks in May 2005. In his time overseeing FX, the network significantly increased its output of original programs -- it currently has eight original series, six of them scripted, in its primetime roster -- and posted its best-ever ratings. It ranked as the fourth-most-viewed cable channel with adults 18-49 during the first quarter of 2008.
“John’s done a remarkable job ensuring that FX remains true to its core programming brand, while also expanding the network into some exciting new territory,” Vinciquerra said in a statement. “His unique experience as a writer/producer and also as an executive has helped FX to transition its rich characters and story-telling to HD, VOD [video-on-demand], mobile video and other complementary platforms.”
Landgraf is also responsible for creating in-house production unit FX Productions, which helps to make FX's Damages and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. The unit plans a Sunny companion show, as well as FX's new drama, Sons of Anarchy, later this year.
“The television business is undergoing changes that create extraordinary challenges and opportunities,” Landgraf said in a statement. “This is an era tailor-made for FX, a network blessed with a visionary parent company, groundbreaking programming, an inspiring brand and a phenomenally talented work force. For all FX and the Fox Networks Group have accomplished together over the past three years, the best is yet to come and I’m honored to remain at the helm.”
Before FX, Landgraf was president of Jersey Television, a development company he cofounded in 1999.

Congratulations! I also wish to beg you to renew The Riches. The show was hampered by the Writers' Strike. This show has been hailed by reviewers and audience members as well, for it's unusual and innovative storyline. FX is seeking to make their brand synonymous with thought-provoking shows with artistic appeal and great acting. This show is an excellent example of that. Please don't punish it's loyal audience and phenomenal cast who will most assuredly be nominated for Emmy's this year. Give more potential viewers the chance to become addicted as many of us have. Please!

Congratulations!
Please renew The Riches. It's my favorite show. It wouldn't be fair to cancel it based on ratings from a partial season. It's a serial drama for crying out loud! If it doesn't have some kind of resolution, people wait for the DVD. Thanks.
