CBS is bringing back comedies How I Met Your Mother, The New Adventures of Old Christine and Rules of Engagement, as well as drama The Unit.

Not making the cut was supernatural drama Moonlight, which had a cult following but did not catch on with viewers since returning to the schedule in April.
The returning series will join new comedies Worst Week and Project Gary on the schedule, as well as new dramas 11th Hour, Harper’s Island, The Mentalist and The Ex List.
The network already announced the return of its crime procedurals, incuding the three CSI incarnations and NCIS, among other series.

B&C: Are you sure that your article, surpa, is correct, that only one drama ("The Unit") and three comedies are returning? Variety reported recently that "NCIS" was renewed for a sixth season. Please check this asap, because NCIS is a highly rated series and it does not seem plausible that CBS would renew only one drama to the exclusion of NCIS.

THEY CANCELLED "NCIS"??!! Let Katie tank CBS News, but cancel a hit like NCIS? Sumner, summon the firing squad! It's time for Jethro's revenge! ... seriously, this is outrageous... they must plan to move new episodes to USA; they couldn't be so stupid as to off the series entirely... then again, Katie's still the anchor as CBS News sinks deeper into irrelevancy. Sumner, I said summon the firing squad! Do you hear me, Sumner? Do you??
