Moyers Gets Interview with Obama's Former Pastor
The Rev. Jeremiah Wright to Appear on April 25 Episode of PBS’ Bill Moyers Journal
By John Eggerton -- Broadcasting & Cable, 4/18/2008 12:56:00 PM
Wright is Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama's (D-Ill.) former pastor, whose fiery preaching about race relations at his Trinity UCC church in Chicago forced Obama to distance himself from those comments.
Moyers is a member of the Riverside UCC/American Baptist Church in New York, the church pointed out in announcing the interview.
Wright will appear on the April 25 episode of the show.
What a coup for a man with an outstanding program that deserves broader viewership. Please PBS, promote the heck out of this one. Take out some big-time advertising... offer up Moyers as a guest on the cable networks... put Moyers on Jay Leno to talk up the program... and by all means, use NPR as a promotional vehicle. Bill, I hope you'll have some interactivity connected with the interview, perhaps a live follow-up discussion with either a studio audience or on-line discussion. Too bad you couldn't have timed this one in time for the PA primary, but you can't have everything!
