MoveOn.org: ABC News ‘Blew’ Democratic Debate
Group Circulates E-Mail Petition; Says Moderators Spent Too Much Time on Obama’s Past
By John Eggerton -- Broadcasting & Cable, 4/17/2008 12:23:00 PM
MoveOn.org circulated an e-mail petition targeting ABC's presidential-candidate debate, which was panned in several prominent publications.
Saying that ABC "blew" the debate, the group added that if it gets 100,000 signatures, it will reprint them in an ad campaign targeting the networks.
Moveon.org endorsed Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.), and some of the criticism was that the debate's moderators spent too much time grilling Obama about recent statements and his relationship with his pastor and a former 1960s radical.

FYI: To the government worker from Maine
First: May I suggest you use spell check , need to get your spelling right about (my correct spelling of the word opportunity ).
Secondly you enjoy watching Jerry Springer Shows, because this was one of them, nothing educational about the debate .

By far the worse debate I've seen. Shame in ABC NEWS

I was so pleased that the ABC news team had enough courage to step out and ask the questions that we, the American people, want to know. The character of the next president is extremely important and Obama''s association with terrorists, etc. does seem quite relevant. And I agree that if you are running for the highest office in the country you have got to be able to stand up to the "heat" that will be out there. The media, as a whole, has been VERY carefull as to not offend or "step on toes" when it came to Obama and we need to know who we are voting for. Thank you ABC for the Debate - I honestly did not expect to watch it all, but we watched it to the end with much appreciation for this oppertunity to get a clearer look at who our candidates are. . and since the debate we see what a CRY BABY Obama really is!! Glad we saw it first hand!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU

The "debate" was a debacle! It was about Gossip, Gaffes & Gotcha! I was extremely disappointed with the moderators''. With the dire situation our country is in, for Senator Obama to be queried about a FLAG LAPEL PIN was ludicrous! Almost an hour was spent on the most tangential of issues while truly crucial issues such as the Iraq war and the economy were not addressed was unforgivable. Our country is in dire straits, yet the questions were almost frivolous! ABC''s performance was incomprehensible!?!
