Report: Katie Couric, CBS News to Part Ways Before Contract Expires
Report in The Wall Street Journal Says Anchor Will Leave CBS News Less than Halfway Through Contract

CBS Evening News anchor Katie Couric is likely to part ways with CBS News well before her contract with the network expires in 2011, according to a report in The Wall Street Journal.

According to the report, Couric could leave as early as next year, following the presidential inauguration in January.
Couric joined CBS News in 2006 after a long stint anchoring Today on NBC. Despite the media blitz surrounding the move, Couric did little to help the ratings, as CBS Evening News has struggled to find ratings ground behind NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams and ABC World News with Charles Gibson.
