The appearance will mark the first time McCain has appeared on the show since he first declared his candidacy for president on The Late Show Feb. 28, 2007, and his 12th appearance overall.
McCain is no stranger to late-night comedy shows. He became the first sitting senator to host Saturday Night Live in October 2002, and he has appeared on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart more times than any other guest in that show’s history.
Late-night TV has become an increasingly popular place for the presidential candidates, including Sen. Hillary Clinton’s (D-N.Y.) notable turn on SNL.
