CBS announced that dramas Flashpoint and Swingtown will debut this summer. Swingtown will debut May 29, while Flashpoint will debut in July, but a final date and time has not been decided as of press time.

Swingtown, from the producers of Big Love and Rome on HBO, peeks into the personal lives of suburban families during the 1970s, a period of cultural and societal transformation. The show was slated for midseason release but was held until the summer. The sexual nature of the show had some at last years upfront shaking their heads.
Flashpoint follows the lives of cops in the SRU, based on Toronto’s Emergency Task Force, an elite police unit that tackles only the toughest challenges. Flashpoint was developed for Canada’s CTV, and CBS acquired the series during the writers’ strike, hedging its bets if it was not resolved quickly.
