Sony tapped Jonathan Shambroom to head up Crackle.

Shambroom has headed up product development and marketing at the online-video site since 2005.
Sony bought Crackle (formerly Grouper) in 2006, then changed the business model in 2007 from one relying on user-generated video to one streaming short-form content from Sony.
In essence, the move marks a passing of the baton from site creators Dave Samuel and Josh Felser, who built Crackle into the second-largest user-generated-video site behind YouTube, selling it for $65 million to Sony.
“It’s been a pleasure to nurture and develop Crackle into a leading video network showcasing the best in emerging talent," Felser said in a statement. "And now, with Jonathan at the helm, we are confident that audiences are in for even more of the best mind-blowing entertainment.”
Sony said that will include debuts of short-form video from Sony Pictures TV, including flash-animation The Roadents, described as The Odd Couple meets Easy Rider.
