Rafer Weigel is joining CNN Headline News' Morning Express with Robin Meade as sports anchor.

He will sign on Feb. 4, in time to do a post-mortem on the Super Bowl.
Weigel comes to the cable news network from CBS affiliate KOVR San Diego. His resume also includes reporting for KUSI San Diego and sports reporting at the Los Angeles Times and Chicago Sun-Times.

Mr. Weigel: One would assume that a degree from the University of Illinois would help you with pronunciations. An NFL football player from Jacksonville, Florida is a Jag-WAR, not a Jag-wire.

I juar happen to turn on CNN headline news at about 10:30 am and heard comments from some idiot sports nut person about the British Open and Dana Patrick. Any of us over 50 followed Norman all week long and found the Open to be very exciting. The shot that Harrington made on 17 was probably one of the top five shots in golfing history. He handled himself with grace and dignity in his win which I can not say for one other golfer. Patrick has always confronted men and they have to turn away from her. This time she confronted a woman and almost got her butt kicked. The woman clearly said that she did not see Patrick and if the idiot sports? guy could clearly see the drivers were going through the turns and did not make contact. He would leave you to believe this may have cost Patrick the race. She has a history of confronting other drivers, when she should be taking her complaints to the racing officials or they should be handled between team representatives. I can see all of the men laughing because the other driver said what they could not. It will probably be a long time before she gets in this woman's face again.
