CBS Plans The Price Is Right Primetime Specials
Specials Mark Game Show’s First Primetime Appearance Since Drew Carey Replaced Bob Barker

CBS will bring The Price Is Right back to primetime with a series of six specials.

The network will program the specials on consecutive Fridays at 8 p.m., against NBC game show 1 vs. 100. CBS will shift The Ghost Whisperer to 9 p.m. during the run.
The new specials will be the first primetime Price Is Right shows since Drew Carey took over hosting duties from Bob Barker last year.
The networks have been looking for creative ways to fill increasingly sparse primetime programming schedules. CBS already ordered more episodes of Carey-hosted Power of 10, while NBC ordered additional episodes of surprise reality hit American Gladiators.
CBS will premiere the first of The Price Is Right primetime specials Feb. 22.

Drew is OK, it will take some time for him to get comfortable and us to get comfortable to someone new. However, the choice to continue saying "Have your pets spayed or neutered" had to of been the dumbest thing ever when you're trying to establish something new. Everyone knows he's saying that because it was Barker's tradition and charity. But is it really Drew's? I know it was probably Drew's decision to do that, but the producers should have stopped it as soon as it started.

I watched the price is right since I was a little girl I loved Bob he made the show fun but since Drew Carey took over I watched the first episode and then never watched it again I think he is not a good replacement for Bob Barker he has no enthusiasim when a contestant wins and when he explains the games he has no excitement toward the game he is explaining which I think does not get the contestant excited...Sorry but he bites...

Everyone knows how good Bob Barker was on The Price Is Right and now we have Drew Carey, That personally is doing a GREAT job. Everyone new who ever they got to replace Bob Barker would never be able to fill Bobs shoes but It took a lot of guts to even try to do what Bob did for 35 years. I think every one should give Drew a chance. Rome wasn''t built in a day!!!!!!!!!!

At first I was worried for Drew. I recorded shows for a couple of months and I've been pleasantly surprised. He does a fantastic job, the audience likes him and he does care for the contestants. A nice man and a great show. They will be together for a long time. Go Drew and Price is Right!!

I am pleasantly surprised that Drew is doing a fine job as the new host of The Price Is Right. I did not expect much at first, but he surprised me. He is a natural. Very calm, to the point, and pleasant.
