Eyelash transplants, adjustable breast implants, and regrowing fingers: Those are just some of the cutting-edge medical procedures online at a new broadband destination, Surgery TV, launched Tuesday by Ivanhoe Broadcast News.

Ivanhoe, which supplies medical reports -- "Medical Breakthroughs" -- for newscasts on 200 network-affiliated TV stations, will stream excerpts of surgeries in longer form (five- to 10-minute segments) than it does for local TV.
"Surgery TV helps us to continue our mission of providing life-changing news and information to the world,” Ivanhoe CEO Marjorie Bekaert Thomas said in announcing the new broadband channel.

Surgery TV sounds like a great way for people to become more educated about procedures like hair transplants and eyelash transplants. The key will be presenting accurate information about the risks and benefits.
