NAB 2008: CSI Executive Producer Zuiker to Speak at NAB Show

National Association of Broadcasters Follows Lead of 2008 International Consumer Electronics Show in Going Hollywood

By John Eggerton -- Broadcasting & Cable, 1/10/2008 7:13:00 PM

The Hollywood-ization of techie-type conventions, on display at the 2008 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week, continues: The National Association of Broadcasters said Thursday that it lined up Anthony Zuiker to speak at its show April 14, also in Las Vegas.

Anthony Zuiker

Zuiker is executive producer of CBS' CSI franchise, which helped to reshape the face of TV into one with a bullet in the right cheek and teeth that will need to be sent to the lab for further tests.

In addition, according to the NAB in announcing his appearance, he mixed traditional with broadband program strategies in an effort to promote content to a younger audience.

While the National Association of Television Program Executives convention used to be the primary home of programmers, as technology has expanded delivery platforms, programmers have broadened their view and their participation in shows like CES and the NAB confab.
