IAC Rolling Out Brightcove Video Platform

Expansion of Two Companies’ Prior Relationship to Make Brightcove Video Platform Available to All InterActiveCorp Sites

Barry Diller’s InterActiveCorp signed a deal with Brightcove to make the company’s video platform available to all of IAC’s sites.

IAC has been a minority investor in Brightcove since December 2006, and the new agreement expands on their prior relationship.

“Brightcove is in tune with the new content consumers want, and it has been able to recognize the need for effective video distribution in a world where computer screens are replacing television screens,” IAC chairman and CEO Diller said in a statement announcing the deal. “By making this platform available across IAC, we can continue to deepen engagement with our online audiences, expand the reach of our brands and open powerful new revenue streams through online-video advertising across our sites.”

While Brightcove technology will be available to all of the IAC brands, the first sites that will roll out the platform are Ticketmaster, which will use it for promotional purposes, Citysearch and 23/6, a humor site formed by IAC and The Huffington Post.

23/6 has used the Brightcove platform since November for its videos, including SwiftKids, a satire of the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth.

Of the IAC brands not yet using the technology, the most notable omission is CollegeHumor, which relies heavily on original video content.
