president
said Tuesday that his organization is “delighted” that
canceled show tapings in New York scheduled for Nov. 19 and 20.

"She knows that the Writers Guild East would have been there to protest her lack of solidarity not only with her Guild writing staff, but all the striking members of the Writers Guild, of which she is a member," Winship said. "We will be even more delighted if she does not cross the Guild picket lines at the NBC Studios in Burbank [Calif.], where her show usually is produced."
DeGeneres’ decision to return to work on the second day of the strike last week has been a source of debate between the WGA and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists .
A Telepictures spokesperson confirmed the cancellation but did not give a reason for the change in plans.

How is she doing wonderful things for her union, the WGA, by crossing picket lines?

II think that what Ellen DeGeneres is doing in support of heher union is marvelous. She's a wonderful person, and if she ever comes to L.A., I would consider it an honor to meet her and thank her in person.
