Saturday Night Live Scores with Brian Williams
NBC Nightly News Anchor Helps Series to Best Overnight Metered-Market Numbers in Eight Months
By John Eggerton -- Broadcasting & Cable, 11/4/2007 11:02:00 AM MT
NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams' turn as host of Saturday Night Live Nov. 3 helped the series to its best overnight metered-market numbers in eight months, according to the network.

SNL's 5.2 household rating/12 share was its best since Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning hosted March 24 (5.9/15).
SNL's Williams-hosted episode also featured a surprise appearance by Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama, who delivered the opening skit's famous closing line: "Live from New York, it's Saturday night."
Williams acquitted himself well, showing an affinity for comedy and dialect in a Bronx fireman character.
The show's rating was up 21% from the same Saturday last year, but that was a repeat.
