National Enquirer Posts Clip of Phone Conversation with Repeated Utterances of N-Word

A&E Network is pulling upcoming episodes of Dog the Bounty Hunterafter star Duane "Dog" Chapman repeatedly used the n-word in a recorded phone conversation that was posted online.

The network will not run the Dog marathon it had scheduled for this weekend.
The decision came after Yum! Brands -- which bought spots during Dog for Pizza Hut, Taco Bell and KFC -- pulled ads from the show.
The network suspended Chapman Wednesday after the National Enquirerposted a clip from the conversation online. A&E stopped production on the show, but it has not made a decision about whether to cancel it, according to a network spokesperson.
“In evaluating the circumstances of the past few days, A&E has decided to take Dog the Bounty Hunter off the network’s schedule for the foreseeable future,” A&E said in a statement. “We hope Mr. Chapman continues the healing process that he has begun.”
Dog has consistently been one of A&E's highest-rated shows since it premiered in 2004 -- it averaged more than 1 million viewers in primetime last month, according to Nielsen Media Research, and it brought in nearly $18 million in ad revenue in the first half of 2007, according to TNS Media Intelligence.
In the phone call, Chapman repeatedly uses the n-word in expressing his disapproval of his son's African-American girlfriend, saying that she could harm the show if she hears Chapman and others using the word.
AP reported Friday that Chapman's attorney alleged that his son, Tucker, taped the phone call and sold it to the National Enquirer.
Chapman issued a statement Wednesday night expressing contrition and saying that he was meeting with his "spiritual advisor" for guidance.
"I know that all of my fans are deeply disappointed in me, as well, as I have tried to be a model for doing the right thing," he said in the statement. "I did not do the right thing this time, and hope you will forgive me."

I think people are to sensitive in this world and need to take a reality check more people say the "n" word then anyone really knows. No I don't condone the way Dog used the word, but I do think it was his own personal business. Also if the African American people don't like the word being said then they don't need to go around saying it to each other. And why if they don't like people saying that to them then why do they call Caucasian people Honky like that's approiate. Anyway who really cares what anyone says, remember the old saying sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me. Just remember its just a word just leave it alone its none of our business, and yes god will judge him thats not our job. Everyone now a days talks about forgiveness why noone ever forgives anyone. The only people that are worried about this is the ones that are jealous cause he made something out of his self, as far as his son goes get a life. A&E needs to bring back The Dog if not stop selling his merchadise, and may you go bankrupt.

hey minnie if you can find one part of his remarks that were directed anywhere but towards this one person then you have got a tape that the rest of us haven't heard. but if we were all held responsible for what we said instead of what we supposedly meant then we wouldn't be here right now, would we? minnie in my opinion you are as much a racist as the people you point out to be one. the only facts you see are white guy saying nigger so let's ruin everything good he has done with what you see as being a remark meant for the whole black race. hey i know this is perfect for a civil suit so that some black person in america can take him to court and cry to the courts about how hurt they are and how all of this idiots money will make it all better! well everybody according to minnie calling a black person ignorant or stupiod should be enough to make you a racist. he only called her that minnie not all black people! and like i said before that makes him an idiot but not a racist. but as long as we are suppose to pay for the mistakes in judgement made by the slave traders and owners we will all be racist even if we never say these things because in the eyes of the poor black people we are all thinking exactly what this guy said! you go minnie! keep racism alive and well with your poor us and lucky them attitude!
