Ellen East joined Time Warner Cable as executive vice president of corporate communications.
East had been VP of communications and public affairs at Cox Communications.
In her new role, she will oversee the cable operator’s corporate-communications and public-affairs teams and provide guidance to its regional and divisional public-affairs officers.
East is replacing Lynn Yaeger, who announced that she would retire at the end of 2007.
“We have spent the past few months conducting a thorough search of candidates, both inside and outside of our industry,” Time Warner Cable CEO Glenn Britt said in a statement.
“We are fortunate to have been able to secure the talents of someone with a wide breadth of corporate-affairs experience at another well-respected MSO,” Britt added. “Ellen has led the corporate-communications function for Cox both as a public and private entity. Her knowledge in both arenas will serve us well.”
