Durning Gets SAG Lifetime Achievement Award
Eight-Time Emmy Award-Nominee Has Appeared in More Than 50 TV Films

Eight-time Emmy Award-nominee Charles Durning, who has been saluted for his longtime film and theater work, was named to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Screen Actors Guild.
Durning's TV credits list more than 50 TV films including Queen of the Stardust Ballroom, Attica and Death of a Salesman; featured roles in series Evening Shade, First Monday, Orleans, Eye to Eye and soap opera Another World; and numerous guest appearances.
“Charles Durning is the perfect choice for the Lifetime Achievement Award as the Screen Actors Guild celebrates its 75th anniversary," SAG president Alan Rosenberg said in announcing the choice. "Throughout his career, he has epitomized the art and grace of acting and brought something special to every role. He is above all things a great actor with the talent to which we all aspire: the power to create indelible characters.”
Durning is also a decorated World War II veteran.
The award will be presented at the SAG Awards ceremony Jan. 27, which will air on both TNT and TBS.
