NBC Close To Renewing Friday Night Lights, Picking Up Four Pilots
By BroadCasting & Cable Staff -- Broadcasting & Cable, 5/10/2007 12:41:00 PM
The upfront rush is underway as NBC on Thursday was close to giving Friday Night Lights a sophomore season, and is also close to picking up four more dramas: The Bionic Woman, Life, Chuck and Journeyman.
Friday Night Lights never found big audiences with a 2.3 average rating, but was a critical darling championed by NBC Entertainment President Kevin Reilly. Lights is from NBC Universal Television Studio and Imagine TV.
Bionic Woman is a remake of the classic hit, Life features a wrongly-jailed cop getting back on the job, Chuck is about a heroic computer nerd and Journeyman is about a time traveler who fixes past events.

Friday Night Lights is one of the best shows on TV. I wouldn't miss it for anything!

Glad to hear Friday Night Lights is close to being renewed. I''m surprised the show has not garnered stronger ratings as I''ve only heard glowing opinions when asking other viewers about the show.
It seems they need to figure out how better to promote and market the show. It seems to have a very broad audience target with it being one of the few shows where an entire family can watch together (which seems rare these days).

Who cares about the pilots...Friday Night Lights is one of the most realistic television shows ever shown. The lives of the teenagers and their parents are truly shown, the good and the bad. This kind of quality TV is rare. NBC get going and renew FNL!!!
