Cosby Out at MSNBC

Rita Cosby is leaving MSNBC at the end of the month. Her contract was due to expire April 1 and was not going to be renewed, according to sources familiar with the matter.
MSNBC cancelled Cosby's 10 p.m. show, Rita Cosby Live and Direct, in June. The network dumped Tucker Carlson's 11 p.m. show then too to make way for documentary programming.
At the time, Cosby was named head of a new specials unit, but she has been featured sparingly since.
The former Fox News personality gained notoriety for her celebrity pieces, most recently a story on Anna Nicole Smith's private funeral in the Bahamas.
"NBC replaced live programming with taped shows during some primetime slots, including mine," Cosby said in a statement. "I then began discussions with the network about my future interests and expressed my desire to move on.
"I am committed to devoting my attention full-time to my work and obligations at the network. I intend to continue doing so until I leave at the end of the month. I wish all of my MSNBC and NBC colleagues the best for the future. As of April 1st, I will begin to explore the new opportunities."

i cant believe she left MSNBC. I love how she works and she was one of the reasons why i watched the news. I heard that she wrote a book, is that true?

I just can''t believe she was dumb enough to leave FOX in the first place, but I wish her well.

I followed Rita from Fox News over to MSNBC. I was thrilled she had her primetime show. As far as I'm concerned she's the best journalist there is. I will miss seeing her regularly and hope she'll be back on a network soon. Whatever that network is, I'll follow her as she has the best sources for information of any other journalist.

Rita Cosby had to go. She would probably be better served behind the scenes as a producer. Her voice is not for broadcast and her mannerism donote inexperience. I am just surprise MSNBC/NBC waited so long to take her off the air.
I continue to have high hopes and expectations for Dan Abrams. He is making MSNBC edgey which I like. KEith Oberman is great and says what so many people are thinking and want said to hold other accountable. Chris Mathews needs to stop talking over his guest but I like his in your face attitude. I even enjoy Tucker''s perspective and forwardness.
Keep moving in this direction Mr. Abrams!

Hopefully, Rita can join CNN and have a show before or after Nancy Grace. When they canceled Live & Direct last Summer, I was extremely disappointed :(
I'm sure Rita will do well wherever she goes.
