2008 Broadcasting & Cable Hall of Fame Inductee- Bob Cook

President and COO Bob Cook joined Twentieth Television in 2000 as one of the industry's most respected syndication and television executives. Cook oversees the domestic syndication business for the FOX studios, which includes all of the off-net product sales and 20th first run productions distributed to every local broadcast station and cable network throughout the US.
Prior to joining Twentieth Television, Cook was EVP of CBS Enterprises and before that, SVP for Sony's Columbia Tri Star Television. He was instrumental in marketing rising talent into brand name first run TV franchises, like Ricki Lake and Martha Stewart. During his career Cook has launched or spearheaded innovative sales and marketing efforts of approximately 140 television programs comprised of first run syndication, network, off-network syndication and motion pictures, as well as some of TV's most recognizable programs including Family Guy, Married With Children, The Practice, Touched by an Angel, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Divorce Court, Hollywood Squares, COPS, America's Most Wanted, King of the Hill, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and the 3 most successful off-net series in syndication history: Seinfeld, Everybody Loves Raymond, and The Simpsons. Cook has also pioneered a host of creative and strategic initiatives in cable and broadcast sales & marketing that have resulted in enormous ratings success and over 10 billion dollars in revenue.
Throughout his 34 year career, Cook has been recognized with accolades ranging from Emmy, Telly and Grammy to Lulu, Promax/BDA, Gold/Muse, Worldfest Awards and Gracies. He serves on the Board for the City of Hope and was Vice Chair of Promax as well as Chair of the LA DA's Foundation for the Prevention of Crime. He sits on the Board of Directors of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Foundation, is a Trustee of The Buckley School, and is a frequent lecturer at USC and UCLA.
The B&C Hall of Fame committee welcomes Bob Cook into the Class of 2008.
