Al Roker Reporting On Gun Crime For MSNBC
Al Roker Reporting: Armed In America to explore behind the scenes at the ATF.
By Alex Weprin -- Broadcasting & Cable, 11/11/2008 12:00:00 PM
NBC Today anchor Al Roker is trading in his weatherman hat for a flak jacket for a new MSNBC documentary Al Roker Reporting: Armed In America.
The doc will follow Roker as he goes behind the scenes at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms to “investigate the reality of gun crime and the dangerous work of those trying to stop it.”
Roker is no stranger when it comes to producing compelling footage about crime and the people looking to stop it. Roker’s production company, Al Roker Entertainment, produces DEA for Spike TV, a show that examines the daily goings on at that federal agency. Al Roker Entertainment is also producing the MSNBC documentary.
Armed in America will be the first in a series of investigative documentaries hosted by Roker, with others appearing on the network in coming months.

Well Thank you Mr. Roker for your completly biased hack job of making every gun owner especialy ones that own rifles look like complete psychopaths! Way to push your personal agenda to screw gun owners over!!

This was loaded with half-truths and serious omissions meant to sensationalize the issues instead of informing the public. If MSNBC and the producer of this show could be sued for malpractice, they would lose the suit!
Fact; Fully automatic weapons are already regulated with the NFA. What did they show Al Roker shooting, a fully automatic weapon?
Fact: The FBI reported that most police are killed with handguns, based on the fact that the criminals know their weapons better and do not hesitate to shoot. The assault weapons band did nothing to reduce crime or protect police.

I know DEA Agents, and the ones that are serious about thier jobs aren't fans of the DEA show. It's just more sensationalistic psuedo-journalism, just like this report. How many times did Al use "high power" in this segment without quantifying it, applying it to relatively mid-range calibers like .223 and 9mm?

Im in hopes this does not end up being liberaly biased as msnbc was during the whole election. I hope it shows the truth behind guns and is not basicly a commercial for the prohibiting of firearms in America. Yes crimes are commeted. Yes bad things happen. No, Restricting guns will not fix the the bad. It will only allow those who have no regared for the law to have them. It will cause no change except the law abbiders will have no defince against the offenders!
