ABC's new sitcom, Cavemen, will get a free promo -- the equivalent of four 30-second spots -- on 15,500 movie screens reaching 91% of the nation's DMAs.

According to movie-screen ad-programming company Screenvision, insurance company GEICO, which ran TV ads with the characters that were the inspiration for the sitcom, bought a two-minute spot that will feature the cavemen as part of a Halloween-themed preshow in 2,400 movie theaters.
The spot features the cavemen in a high-rise apartment singing the Sinatra song "Everything Happens to Me" (so they must need insurance) to a roomful of women.
ABC could use the exposure: The network has been plugging Cavemen hard, including cast "waves and smiles" shots in the audience of hit Dancing with the Stars, but the show’s ratings dropped in its last outing to a 2.5/8 for third place in its time period from a 3.3/10 and tied for first place in its debut outing.
