Sony Pictures Television cleared its new first-run syndicated show, Judge Karen, in 45% of the country for fall 2008. Judge Karen joins Program Partners’ Family Court, featuring Judge Penny Brown Reynolds, as one of next fall’s key syndie court offerings.
Among the stations that have picked up the show are Tribune’s WPIX New York and WPHL Philadelphia; Weigel's WCIU Chicago; and several stations in the CBS station group, including KTVT/KTXA Dallas, KPIX/KBCW San Francisco and WBZ/WSBK Boston.
Judge Karen Mills-Francis hails from Miami, where she has been an administrative judge since 2000. Prior to that she was a defense attorney, defending adults, juveniles and indigent clients.
Besides her legal work, Mills-Francis is very involved with children’s causes. She’s a foster mother and a mentor to at-risk children, and she supports many child advocacy programs, including the Whyspers Program for Girls, the Gems Program for Girls, the 5000 Role Models Program, the Roving Leaders Program and the North Miami Athletic Program for boys.

I would never go to Court with this person presiding.
Just watched a show where it was so obvious that a Black Man ripped off a White woman, it was rediculous.
A blind person could have figured this one out. She found against the woman who got ripped off $4,000.00 because she didn''t pay enough attention to her Bank Account.
is she the person who decides how everyone should handle their account?
I thought this was supposed to be a show about law, not about your feelings.
I certainly will never watch this program again, the stress is too much to watch someone who is this unfair.
When someone loses a Court case that is obviously a theft because she should have known better, it is a complete mockery of the Justice System.

I find it very interesting to hear how rudely the actual litigants were treated by the production staff. I went to a taping of the show in August for a September airing. The staff told us to call in to find out when the actual airing would be. I have called a dozen times---leaving 9 messages and talking to a live person 3 times. NO ONE has called me back to give me the air date. Seems that this production staff uses you for their show, then they couldn't care less about you. I won't be going back, nor will I watch them. They should all lose their jobs.

My roommate and I went on this show to sue our old roommate. And we won, but the judge really wasn't concerned with anything we had to say. We made agreements with our defendant and really should have walked away with more money. She was partially correct in her ruling, but she really didn't care about hearing out our whole case.
Aside from that, the production team is a bunch of assholes. They left me at an airport for over 12 hours. They didn't care that I might miss my flight or work or anything. They agreed to reimburse us for things that would have cost around $400. We got $150, which was just a standard appearance fee. It was rather obnoxious. Then they promised to send the money we won in a certain amount of time, and it arrived weeks later. When we'd email them about the money, they acted like they didn't care anymore, now that they'd gotten what they wanted. They put us up in a disgusting hotel, that was full of roaches and the drivers they had pick us up were disorganized and drove like they WANTED to kill us. It was a pretty horrible experience.

This review has nothing to do with the fact I lost, I didn't really care if I
lost, the Bridzilla only got $250. But the production staff called and
made it sound so great coming to New York , they begged me to come
withing 48 hours I was there with so many promises from the staff,
they did not even use my witness, (and yes the judge was all about
herself and made herself look obnoxious) Unfortunatly I did not get a
contract with the many promises they made, they can't wait to get you
out of that sudio with a completly new letter from Travel, I'm out $500
, was hotelless for about 6 hours, put up in the dirtyest hotel that was
smoking room, and they promised to change the room the second
night, it did not happen till the 3rd night. They gave us $100 per diem
for 2 nights and made us feel like criminals because they put us up for
4 nights, well 2 of those nights were spent traveling across the country.
I thought New York was dirty and the hotel staff was about concerned
with the banging contrustion in the next room to us as the man on the
moon would be. The only good thing was someone did pay for our
plane tickets and saved me from going back on my own dime.
