SNY announced a multiyear partnership that makes the channel “the official television home” of the Big East Conference for the New York region. SNY will feature more than 800 hours of Big East sports programming, including behind-the-scenes access with coaches and players.

“Everyone is excited about our partnership,” SNY president Steve Raab said at the regional sports network’s midtown Manhattan headquarters Wednesday. “The vision was for sports fans and alumni alike to have their own college home.”

SNY will air 16 football games this fall, along with the Saturday-afternoon Game of the Week, which will have SNY-produced pregame, halftime and postgame shows.

SNY also became “the exclusive TV home” of the emerging Rutgers University football program, with a show centered on head coach Greg Schiano, various press conferences, and reaired games.

The network will air more than 100 Big East basketball games (men’s and women’s), involving the likes of St. John’s, Rutgers and Seton Hall.

“Coming to New York has always been at the top of our agenda,” Big East commissioner Michael Tranghese said.
