Fox is taking its shot at adapting a Japanese game show, ordering 13 hours of Hole in the Wall from American Idolproducers FremantleMedia North America.

Hole in the Wall features teams of contestants competing in strange tests of athleticism and agility.
The show has been on in Japan since launching on Fuji TV in 2006, and FremantleMedia now has versions in Europe, South America and Asia.
ABC is also getting into the Japanese-game-show world this summer with I Survived a Japanese Game Show and Wipeout.

It's shocking how long it took for American networks to adapt the style of the Japanese game shows. One only has to look at viral video land (web) to realize how popular this stuff really is. Yeah there have been a few on cable, but one or two of these deserve prime time.
